Checa and Melandri are under Biaggi’s attack. ?Last year we did not have such a great race but that was down to a tire choice,? explained Checa. ?I think we have great potential this year; of course we have a disadvantage when it comes to power, especially on the uphill and the straight but I am confident and I think the work we?ve been doing this year will help us.?

If Max Biaggi is the rider who has the best positions in Brno, Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea Racing) will try to keep his advantage (43 points) in the standings, just against the World Champion. The Spaniard has gone up only once on the podium in race 1 of 2009 (second place) in six appearances in the Czech Republic, but this year has so far failed to overturn a number of predictions.
